Dampak Sertifikasi Guru Terhadap Peningkatan Kompetensi Profesional Guru

Abstract

Program sertifikasi dilakukan supaya guru memiliki penguasaan kompetensi sebagaimana dipersyaratkan UU Guru dan Dosen. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMK Pelita Salatiga. Masalah penelitian ini adalah apakah ada dampak sertifikasi guru dalam peningkatan kompetensi profesional di kalangan guru. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif, metode pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Prosedur analisis data adalah pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan guru sertifikasi kurang menguasai kompetensi khususnya kompetensi profesional, belum ada upaya peningkatan kualitas pendidikan dikarenakan penguasaan kompetensi profesional masih kurang, seperti metode mengajar dan pemanfaatan teknologi. Adanya guru sertifikasi tidak berdampak pada peningkatan kompetensi profesional. Secara tidak langsung penguasaan kompetensi profesional masih tetap seperti sebelum adanya guru sertifikasi.


 


Teacher certification program is conducted in order that teachers have a mastery of competencies as required by the Act on Teachers and Lecturers. This research was conducted at SMK Pelita Salatiga. The research problem is whether there was impact of teacher certification on improving the professional competence among teachers. This study used qualitative research methods, while the data were collected using observation, interviews, and documentation techniques. Data analysis procedures were data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results showed that certified teachers did not master professional competence in particular, and there had been no effort to improve the quality of education due to the lack of professional competence, such as teaching methods and use of technology. Teacher certification did not impact on increasing professional competence. Mastery of professional competence is indirectly still as it was before teacher certification.
